Captured Smiles!

Finally, smiles captured! Usually Holly is the one who is all smiles, and Eden is more serious, but today Eden was having a great time laughing it up with her Daddy. He took about 20 pictures of her smiling away. This is the biggest smile we got, so I had to post it. Of course, then we wanted to get one of Holland and she was being camera shy. We did manage to get a good trademark grin:)

We had our appt with the pulmonologist on Friday. Things didn't go quite as expected. The good news is that Eden did great when they took her oxygen off, so we have an appt Wednesday to stay the night at the hospital for a sleep study. If she is able to maintain her O2 for 24 hours, then she will be off for good. The bad, and somewhat surprising news, is that Holland didn't do quite so good. Her oxygen saturation dropped into the 70s after only 6 minutes off the oxygen. The reason this was so surprising is that she is the baby who always required less oxygen in the hospital, and even spent 3 days off of it while in the NICU. For a while, we didn't even think she would need to come home on it! So now we have to wait a whole month until our next appointment to try again... On the bright side, the doctor was VERY impressed with the girls weight gain. Holland had gained over 2 pounds since her last visit. He said that if she was having any trouble breathing she wouldn't be gaining weight so well. So if we have to do another month with oxygen, oh well.

what a fantastic smile from eden! she really had her energy up, huh? they are both looking so good. i am glad to hear about eden's good news. don't worry, i know that holland won't be far behind. i think that if it takes another month, it takes another month -- in the grand scheme of things, that's not so bad. i think of you all the time and am forever sending good wishes your way. i love you all.

Oh, what a nice way to wake up this morning! Smiling babies! No doubt about it, they are happy little girls! I am sure that once Holland sees Eden without her oxygen SHE will want to be rid of her's too, and Eden will coax her on, so don't worry...it will all work out. Have a great day, love you all! I just wanted to say that I have really enjoyed being Eden and Holland's home care nurse. They are amazing and you four make a beautiful family:)

You have what I call parenitis. Everything your babies do is the most glorious thing in the world. I believe kids who have parents who let them know how utterly wonderful that child is are the luckiest children in the world. God gave us these wonderful babies and why shouldn't they be cherished. I am so proud of the two of you. God bless you. Connie Wilhoite

Billy your babies are beautiful! I am so happy for you and John. I have enjoyed reading on the website and seeing their pictures. I too can't believe it already been five months since they were born. Seeing that Savannah was born the next day. They grow up so fast. Take care and keep up the good work. Love you, Jackie Hoskins

What beautiful big smiles from such growing little girls! What a joy to see the updates. I'm glad to hear they are progressing so strongly. Even though they still have small set backs it is just getting better with each passing day. Keep those pictures coming! My prayers and love are with all of you. Candy
