Hard at Play

Oh how I love unseasonably warm spring days. I am so looking forward to this summer (only 8 days left of work for me!). Not only because I love the sun and warm weather, but because the girls are going to be so much fun this year. They LOVE being outside, and they love to play. The only problem I forsee is that they never want to come IN!

Billie,

Both girls look awesome and like they are in their own little world as they explore water & summer!!

Just a quick question re: Edie's headband/hearing device. I noticed she had it on in one pic and not in the next. Is there a reason for that, like the hearing aide does not work if it gets wet? Please excuse me for asking a stupid question. But for someone with no knowledge of hearing aides, I thought I would try to learn something today :O) Thanks!

The not coming in is a problem for me and my 2 year old for sure! He loves to play outside and the only time I can get him inside for an extended period of time right now is when it is raining! Enjoy the weather! The girls look so cute!

Wow, I can't believe how 'grown up' they look! Adorable as always :-)

Definately warmer where you are than in Edmonton AB. We've been having a cold, rainy, miserable spring. We set up the pool but the water temperature's never gotten above 60 yet. I did go in it once for about 20 minutes. Send some of that warm weather our way.
PS The girls are so cute in the pool :)

In response to the above question... How observant you are! Eden's processor is water resistant, but not water proof. She was wearing it, but Holland was splashing so much that we thought better safe than sorry and took it off:)

VERY fun!! Today was our last day of school. The girls are quite excited for summer vacation! They were telling all their friends, "See you in the fall!"

Look at how big they are! I love it that Eden is scooping water with the measuring cups because scooping water in the tub is first on the list of fun things to do around here:)

Thanks Billie for answering my question. BTW, I love Edie's hair (espcially the part in the front, which we usually don't see when she has the processor on). I think you had mentioned that you miss seeing her hair too when she wears the headband. I wish I could make such straight lines when I part my DD's hair..LOL Hope you all have a relaxing and fun Memorial day weekend.

Nana gets all the credit for the straight parts in these pics. But I'll admit I have gotten pretty good at it too. And trust me when I say that it is no small feat!!!

Billie,
It's nice to stop by your blog now and then and see the pics.
I used to think Eden looked so much like your side of the family and Holland looked very much like John. They are both changing so much as they grow. In these newer pics, I can see that Holland is looking more and more like you did when you were small. And Eden still looks quite a bit like a Wright.
I know it must be tough to keep up with the blog and posting new pics (you have such a full schedule), but I do appreciate watching the girls grow.
Thank you for sharing.

Hey Billie, since we're on the topic of Eden's cochlear implant, I have another question for you. Does Eden act differently or get frusterated when she's not wearing the implant? I would imagine that it's a very different experience for her to go from hearing to not. But maybe that's just a hearing persons misconception.

Eden doesn't seem to care one way or the other whether it's on or off. I guess that is not true of all kids with the CI. I think Eden's case is unique in that she is not physically able to put it back on when it comes off, so she just goes with it. I wish she would notice and ask for it. Maybe someday...
