One Foot in Front of the Other

Last night Holland and Eden weighed in at 1 lb 15 oz, and 2 lbs 3 oz respectively. Eden is back off the ventilator for a third attempt at CPAP. We think she can do it this time!

After 53 days in the NICU progress continues slowly but surely, but unfortunately with no end in sight. I can't complain much because both girls are doing so well, but I must admit that the long haul is starting to take it's toll emotionally. I've always liked the quote "If it doesn't kill you, it makes you stronger." Well, if it's true I should be one tough cookie by the end of this!

Dear Billie:
I know this is a long, tough road for you, but YOU CAN DO IT! You have lots of people praying daily for you and your beautiful family...God's hand is on you, and He will give you strength.
I want to come up soon and see those girls, unfortunately we all have colds this week. :( Soon, I promise.
Much love and many prayers.
Kendra

Dear Billie and John, Sounds like you two could use something to help you refuel. Maybe some homemade soup soon! I think you and your babies will no doubt be stronger after this fight! Love, d

Dear Billie and John,
Please take care of yourselves. It's so important for your emotional as well as physical well-being. I love and care about all of you, if there is anything I can do please don't hesitate to call me. Steal some time for yourselves...you both need that. Love and smooches, Mamma Jules

Billie - I can't even imagine how difficult this process has been for you and John. I've been visiting my cousin's baby in the NICU here in GR occasionally over the past month and even short visits are emotionally draining. However, I also believe that you and John have a relationship where you will help each other through the difficult times, rejoice in the good times, and come out stronger because of it. Your family and friends love you and God is watching over all of you! Take care, Carrie

Billie,
My dear, sweet friend. I can only imagine how tired you both are. You and John are amazingly strong and loving. Remember to take little "time -outs" to do what you can to relax and recharge (as impossible as that might seem). I wish I was there to help, but I know that everyone who is there is more than willing to help -- utilize them. I love you all very much and I really find great joy in all of the progress the girls are making.
Love, Lisa
