Just wanted to do a quick update, and let you all know that Holland was admitted to the hospital yesterday afternoon with viral pneumonia and reactive airway. We had a miserable night trying to manage it at home on Sunday, so I took her in to the ER Monday morning. She is doing much better with her steroids, antibiotic, and breathing treatments ever three hours. We thought we'd bring her home today, because she is holding her sats up with no oxygen, and acting like her totally fine, happy, stubborn, playful self. The problem is that during her nap her oxygen fell into the high 80s so they want to keep her at least one more night. Will keep you posted!

Lots of love and care for you guys! Nate got RSV in Feb and stayed 6 days in the hospital because they kept waiting *one more day* to see if his SATS would hold up when sleeping.. we finally convinced them to let us come home WITH oxygen.... he stayed on oxygen therapy for 3 weeks after come home....

When I hear Elise cough through the monitor a fist squeezes my throat.
Then we lie there at 3AM debating about whether to wake her up to do some extra albuterol. Ugh.

ReplyDeleteI feel for you (and Holland). Her situation is very similar to the one Julia had last month. The only difference is that Julia's came out of nowhere and there was no pneumonia. Regardless, it's scary. Hope for a speedy recovery.

ReplyDeletePoor Holland...Hope all is getting better..We took Kellar into the ER Sunday morn and he has bacterial pneumonia, luckily we were able to come home w/antibiotics and breathing treatments 4 x a day...
