What a Morning

After I morning like mine, I could use a little cuteness... Good thing we have enough of it at our house to go around!

Okay, okay, I know I promised a post about Eden, but it's going to require more thought than I have time for right now. So, quickly... Holland had an eye doc appt this morning at 8:45. Silly me, I didn't set the alarm, because we always wake up before then...especially on Saturdays when I wish we could sleep in. I woke up at 8:45, thought for a split second about how good it had felt to sleep in, then remembered the appt. In a panic, I rushed downstairs, call the office and told them I would be there in 15 minutes. I grabbed H out of bed, quickly changed her diaper and was out the door in 5 minutes. 5 minutes later I got pulled over for speeding and got a ticket for $105 and 2 points on my license. Poor John, I called him hysterical and he couldn't understand what I was saying. He thought we were in an accident until I finally calmed down enough to tell him.

Well, the good news is that H got a good report from the eye doc. Both eyes are turning in slightly at times, but her vision is equal in both eyes, and she is still seeing well enough that she doesn't need glasses yet. So we will put that worry off for a while longer. We have another appt scheduled in August and we'll see how it goes then.

Gotta go, we're off to a BBQ with some of John's coworkers, and tonight I get a girls night out!!!!!!!!

maybe you should have gone hysterical while the cop was there, then maybe you wouldn't have gotten the ticket! And, you might have been over it by the time you called John to save him some panic!
Love you guys, Nick

I can't believe the cop gave you a ticket. That is so mean! You were rushing to get your child to a Dr appointment. The cop could have been more understanding. I'm mad!

Glad you got good news...it is always such a relief!

Bleh to the ticket. Silly police, don't they know you were going somewhere important?

Great news about Holland's appointment - although the ticket sucks. Maybe you can fight it? A lot of times they'll reverse it. I always regret not at least trying to fight my speeding ticket. It took six years to come off my record. Not fun.

I am not sure exactly how I stumbled across your blog tonight, but I did. I cannot even begin to tell you how inspired I am.

I'm sure you hear it a lot, that your girls and you and your husband's strength are an inspiration. But to tell you this from an outsider's perspective, as a complete stranger who has never heard your story until about 2 hours ago - you have touched me. It is truly amazing.

I cannot believe the healthy toddlers I see on your blog today are the same tiny babies who could sit in the palm of my hand when they arrived. I can't get over it.

I have spent the past 2 hours reading the story from very beginning up until now. I am a college student and have early class in the morning but couldn't bring myself to go to bed until I gave my time to your girls, until I let myself be moved by their story. I will definitely be stopping by more to see how you are all doing.

You have written in your blog before "What doesn't kill me makes me stronger". You have to be some of the strongest people I have ever heard of. You have two beautiful miracles to prove it. Thank you for reminding me to never sweat the small stuff.

God Bless and I will come by soon!

Hi Billie! That stinks about the ticket, at leastt you were not in a Statte owned car with an emblem on the door. Talk about embarassing, not to mention the cop was younger then me!

Girls night sounds fun, I could use one myself....Julian is on the bottle now!!

The girls are as cute as ever! Love, Donna

Hi! I'm a new preemie mom myself. My son was born 11 days ago at 24 weeks. I can't tell how much it helps me to hear stories of survival. Your girls are beautiful! Best of luck and take care!
